How is coaching different than therapy?
Therapists are licensed mental health professionals such as psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoanalysts
and social workers who work with patients who have diagnosable medical and mental conditions. They
often examine the patient’s past to find root causes of current problems and help the client heal, recover
and resolve issues. On the other hand, coaching is not clinical in nature, is not based on a diagnosis and
does not usually delve into the past except for background information. The focus of coaching is forward
momentum. Coaching is about finding solutions that help you live your best life. Remember, coaching is
not therapy. Clients are ultimately responsible for all of their own choices and decisions in their lives that
are discussed in coaching sessions.
Since you are an attorney, do you provide legal advice?
No, I do NOT provide legal advice or act as a lawyer when I am coaching or in my coaching sessions. I
solely act within the role of coach but can draw from my personal and professional background as a legal
investigator and experience to gain more clarity on legal issues pertaining to your divorce issues.
Do you provide any other professional services other than coaching?
No, I am NOT a trained or licensed mental health professional, therapist, counselor, psychologist,
psychiatrist or psychoanalyst but a trained coach. I also do not give any legal advice (see above), financial
or medical advice, real estate or any other advice that a trained or licensed professional would give and
may request that you seek other professional guidance for some issues.
Is coaching effective if I am currently going through a divorce?
Yes, coaching is very helpful during a divorce to add clarity and guidance. The emphasis is on a
successful transition and keeping your well-being at the forefront.
Is coaching effective if I have just gone through a divorce?
Yes, coaching is a wonderful way to start you onto a new beginning or the road to recovery. Coaching
helps you to identify your personal goals and helps you get on track and move ahead to creating your new
life.
Is coaching effective if my divorce was years before?
Yes, many people are stuck after a divorce due to many issues. Coaching helps you increase your
personal power to have a rewarding career, better social life, successful relationships, and be an effective
parent. You will reestablish your goals while setting new ones and implement a plan to achieve those
goals.
Do you coach men?
Yes! Men typically like the goal oriented momentum which coaching provides.
Do you only coach people who are divorced?
No, I coach those going through various life transitions. Many are dealing with creating a new beginning
and redirecting their personal or professional lives after a career change, lifestyle change, loss or illness,
midlife changes, relocation, family changes and more. I am also a licensed Marriage Educator and
experience coaching couples who wish to save their marriages.
What is a typical coaching session like?
Each One hour session begins with a review of progress made since your last session. Then, you
determine the agenda. I ask powerful questions and actively listen to elicit your own natural
resourcefulness and to guide you in the direction you aim to go. Options may be weighed, suggestions
might be made and challenges might be presented. The session ends with more clarity and action step(s)
to help you get closer to your objective.
Is there confidentiality?
Yes, all sessions are confidential unless there is a safety risk to you or anyone else. I follow the ethics and
standards of the International Coach Federation.
What are your fees?
Fees for coaching services are based on two 60 minute sessions per week and one daily email exchange
and are paid at the beginning of each month. Fees are $400.00 per month but can be adjusted to meet a
clients needs. A three month minimum commitment is highly suggested but not required.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, payment for services can be made with a major credit card via paypal.
Does health insurance cover coaching fees?
No, coaching does not deal with diagnosable conditions so fees are not reimbursed by health insurance
providers. My fees are a professional service much like those you pay to an accountant or other service
provider.

What is coaching?
Coaching is a transformational process to achieve a better life. Each session starts with your agenda as
you focus on your issues, interests, challenges, problems and goals to create more personal power and
to bring about meaningful change in your life. How? By asking direct and powerful questions, the coach
taps into your own resourcefulness and guides you to choose your best options and solutions and to
help you to move you forward. Think of the coach as the light bearer, lighting a path to where you want
to go and helping you tackle obstacles along the way.
